Senior Estimator

Duties & Responsibilities

Overseeing and managing the estimating department and creating complete estimates for large and complex projectsIdentifying and reviewing material and labor requirements in order to determine which is more cost-effective in producing components or purchasing componentsEstimating the time, materials, or equipment that are required to complete a job or projectCreating, analyzing, and maintaining correct and accurate quantities and thorough take-offs from plansShowing creativity and resourcefulness in order to gain the best pricing from subcontractorsMaintaining and updating correct and accurate records of tendersAssists with maintaining the estimating cost data base to ensure costs are up to date.Studies specifications to assist the operations team in planning procedures for construction on basis of starting and completion times and staffing requirements for each phase of construction.Researches construction documents and analyzes specifications to determine estimated costs.Assures that self-performed estimates comply with the requirements of the overall construction contract with the Owner.Understands how to create proper bid packages and works with the design team on the information required in each package to assure complete bids and giving the field team the right information needed to start construction or maintain the project schedule.

Qualifications

B.S. degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management or equivalent field experience.Minimum of three (3) years commercial construction experience with a minimum of three (3) years of estimating experience.Advanced project estimator skills that include performing engineering calculations, being conversant in engineering nomenclature to effectively communicate with Application Engineers, Product Managers, Project Managers, Engineering and vendorsStrong analytical skillsExcellent communication skillsStrong attention to detailAbility to read, understand and organize construction plans and specificationsStrong organizational and problem solving skillsAbility to work independently and with minimal structure while exercising great judgmentStrong Ability to multitask, prioritize, and work well under pressure to meet established deadlinesAmenable to work in Iloilo
