Job Purpose:

The Tech Ops Engineer is primarily responsible for monitoring all backend and infrastructure services for the Digital Bank, including but not limited to Azure and Bancnet services. He/she will also apply technical knowledge to proactively analyze all backend environments, identify areas for improvement (performance monitoring, capacity management, event, and security monitoring) and make recommendations to enhance tech operations and infra/backend services for Azure, core services, Bancnet, and network connectivity. He/she will also execute database management activities (mirroring, replication, back-up and disk space) and tune activities and procedures to ensure optimal performance to run the technical operations of the app. The Tech Ops Engineer will work closely with Bank’s IT team to set-up, monitor, update, and change network, infrastructure, backend, and technical configurations as needed.

Tech Ops Engineer must measure the availability of:

Computing – Windows Servers Monitoring, Azure Windows Virtual Machines MonitoringStorage – Azure Storage Monitoring, SQL Azure MonitoringNetwork – Network Resources, BandwidthThird Party – Narada, Bancnet, VPNAzure Services – Azure Services Monitoring, Azure Service Bus Monitoring

Measure the key factors below.

Network Availability – the overall percentage of time network resource and services were availableNetwork Throughput – the available bandwidth and the amount of data that is coming in and out of the networkNetwork Responsiveness – how quick the network is in responding to network requests?Network Utilization – what is the utilization level of the Azure backend network? Is it moderate, under or over utilized?Network Capacity – how scalable the current network resources are before they reach the threshold limit?

As an Azure Engineer you must measure:

Storage Availability – the percent of time data storage and processing services are availableStorage Utilization – the minimum, maximum and average amount of storage and database services usedStorage Scalability: the ability of the Azure storage and database infrastructure to scale with burgeoning workloadsSwitchover Time – the time it takes to switch over from a failed node/ server to an alternate instanceSystem Recovery Time – the minimum expected time for an azure resource to recover and resume its operations from the makeshift resource to the original resourceCreation of Real-time Dashboards and Reports
