Forestry Specialist

JOB OBJECTIVES

A. To ensure the implementation of environmental and social programs developed for

Pasay 265 and Borrow Areas such as the Community-based Mangrove and Beach Forest

Program.

B. To prepare and deliver timely accomplishment reports in relation to environmental and

research development programs.

MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Formulates procedures, policies, and guidelines for assigned forest management programs. (e.B.

Mangrove Forest Program)

2. Develops forest management program goals and plans for implementation.

3. Makes recommendations in areas of expertise.

4. Acts as a liaison with other agencies. organizations, and employees to coordinate technical

programs.

5. Plans and coordinates the training of staff in forest management activities.

6.Serves as a technical consultant and liaison with industry and governmental services.

7.Conducts special projects and studies.

8.Maintains records, and prepares reports and correspondence related to the work.

OTHER DUTIES THAT MAY BE ASSIGNED

Follow established ESSU plans and programs.Attend ESSU meetings, PRA/MGB/MRFC Meetings as requiredMay perform other environmental related activities as required (e.g. Coastal

Cleanup, etc.)

May coordinate third-party contractors/service providers, etc.May attend trainings and workshops as required.

JOB SPECIFICATION

A.

Qualifications

1. Have an experience in environmental and social development programs

Implementation (National Greening Program implementation, mangrove

planting, etc.)

2.BS in Forestry graduate

3.Forestry/Forester experience is preferred

4.Community engagement experience

5.Coordination with government agencies such as DEN, PENRO/MENRO

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

A.

Occasional exposure to the following items:

1. Extreme weather conditions - due to environment of work

2.

Potential physical harm - due to environment of work

3. Infectious diseases - due to interactions with various people

4. Potential risks while travelling - occasional/frequent travel as needed at work

5.Working beyond regular working hours - due to emergencies or urgent

situations

REPORTING RELATIONSHIP

A.

The Forestry Specialist reports directly to ESSU Manager or to senior leadership such as

the President.

EXTERNAL WORKING RELATIONSHIP

A. The Social Plans & Programs Officer are expected to work with the following external

units:

1. Government Agencies (PRA/MGB/MMT/MRFC)
