Medical Scribe RN's function to create an efficient patient care environment that enhances both patient and provider satisfaction by providing clerical assistance to the healthcare provider. A medical scribe assists the provider with a variety of tasks; performing documentation in the EHR, gathering information for the patient's visit, and partnering with the provider to deliver the most efficient patient care. Duties and Responsibilities

document the physician dictated patient history, including history of present illness, review of systems, past medical and surgical history, family and social histories, medications, allergies, and dictated physical exam findings, without interjecting their own observationsdocumenting procedures performed by the providerimporting radiology reports, lab results, procedure results, as well as progress notes from other providersList all proper diagnoses and symptoms as well as follow up instructions and prescriptions as dictated by the physician.Transcribe patient orders including laboratory tests, radiology tests, medications, etc.Establish and maintain effective working relationships with physicians, staff and managements.Facilitate communication between providers and other staffPerform other clerical tasks that optimize efficiency
