Senior Accountant (AU)

We have an existing Australian Accounting firm client looking for a qualified Senior Accountant to meet the demands of a growing firm. Australian Accounting and Tax experience is essential. Especially working with companies and trust entities in various industries.

Job Description  The role will primarily focus on completing tax and accounting activities.

Responsibilities

Preparing financial accounts and tax returns for companies and trusts.Review, analyse and reconcile financial data in client accounting systems including Xero.Prepare annual financial reports and income tax returns for private business clients operating through various legal structures such as companies, trusts, sole traders and family partnerships.Prepare financial reports and income tax returns for self-managed superannuation funds.Prepare BAS on a month and quarterly basis, including analysis of transactions to ensure compliance with the GST legislation.Participate in external and internal training.Update workflow reports to manage and track the status of client projects.

Requirements

Graduate BS Accountancy or Accounting related DegreeAt least 2 years Australian Tax & Accounting work experienceSound working knowledge of Xero, MYOB and other accounting softwareExperience with MYOB AE practice management is desired (not essential)Sound working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Excel and Word.Strong verbal and written English communication skillsCan work independently with high attention to detail

   Salary level will depend on technical skills and experience.
