SENIOR ACCOUNTING OFFICER

JOB SUMMARY

The Senior Accounting Officer will be responsible for tasks and responsibilities mainly related to Loans Accounting. He/she will also assist in the monthly book closing and preparation of Financial Statements, account reconciliations and regulatory reports. He/she will also serve as back-up to the tasks of other members of the team.

Main Duties & Responsibilities:

Ensures that the Loans Subsidiary Ledger ties up with the General Ledger, and ensures that all accounting entries are correct, accurate and in compliance with applicable financial reporting standards.Responsible for finance-related tasks during UAT and/or fix of the Loans Management System.Assists the Accounting Supervisor, and will act as back-up, on the monthly closing of the books of accounts and preparation of Financial Statements.Ensures that the transactions recorded in the books are accurate, verifiable, reliable, and in compliance with the applicable financial reporting and regulatory standards.Prepares the required month-end schedules and reconciliations to ensure that the account balances are reconciled and that there are no long-outstanding float items.Prepares schedules required for internal, external and regulatory audits.Processes payments to vendors and regulatory agencies and ensures that payments are made in a timely manner.Assists, and acts as back-up, in the preparation and filing of accurate tax returns and regulatory reports.Perform additional finance/accounting tasks that may be assigned to him/her.Act as back-up to the Accounting team membersProper filing of accounting records.Ad-hoc projects and performs other duties as assigned by the Chief Finance Officer.Adheres to internal control and company policies at all times.Qualifications:Certified Public AccountantMinimum of three years of working experience in banks or financial institutions is preferred.Has experience in handling tax computations and queries.Able to work independently and under a fast-paced environment.Experience in working under computerised environment using QuickBooks or similar accounting software.Good IT knowledge and computer-savvyPositive mindset and good interpersonal communication skills
