Cost Engineer

Cost engineer provides systems integration support, systems engineering and project management support to branch and COTRs utilizing experience in construction, engineering and research & development.

Responsibilities

·       Interact with the engineering team, procurement, quality, manufacturing, marketing and suppliers

·       promptly anticipates cost overages or other unsatisfactory cost elements and prepares cost exception report

·       Primary responsibility will be to calculate part prices and tooling investments, both in new projects and support projects currently in progress

·       Provide support during the change management process

·       Provide suppliers with in-depth technical updates regarding their production lines or layouts related to cost drivers and investments

·       Drive systems solutions that optimize cost, quality and time to market

·       Develop and write test plans to validate designs coordinating with lab resources to perform tests

·       Develop project schedules that align with the project team and communicate progress against the schedule to maintain alignment with all subsystems

·       Identify, analyze and solve issues

Qualification

·       Basic understanding of CAD principals, experience working in Pro-Eng

·       Experience with system simulation tools

·       4+ Years of relevant experience related to the functions listed above

·       Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering

·       Proficient in MS Office Suite, familiar with special estimating software or programming skills would be a plus

·       Breadth of experience across whole project and programmed lifecycle
