Product Development Specialist – Technical Services

1.1 Quality and product development related functions

a) conducts physical and chemical analyses of raw materials, prototypes and market samples, as required (e.g. pH, specific gravity, viscosity etc.) to ensure quality

b) checks and ensures accuracy, correctness and completeness of quality documents like Certificate of Analysis, test results and other technical documents

c) qualifies and liaise with third party testing agencies for tests as required by customers

d) documents and prepares reports to communicate outcomes of quality assurance and product testing activities

e) develops and validates in-house test methods and protocols for evaluating product stability, safety, efficacy and sensory attributes

f) ensures quality and integrity of prototypes through conduct of stability studies, sensory evaluation, in-house efficacy tests, safety tests etc.

g) takes charge and facilitates laboratory equipment calibration

h) handles and maintains laboratory records such as formulation, stability records, in-house test results and other related documents

i) provides technical training to internal and clients' customers

j) provides technical support to sales activities such as training, seminars, workshop etc.

k) performs laboratory batch compounding as needed

1.2 Performs product testing and claim substantiation related activities, as needed

1.3 Serves as ISO Coordinator (ICOR); functions as Department Representative; document Control Assistant and Internal Auditor

1.4 Special assignments, projects and other duties, as may be assigned

Qualifications

a) Must have at least a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry/Chemical Engineering/Pharmacy/ Industrial Pharmacy/Biochemistry, or any related scientific discipline

b) With at least 1 year industry experience in quality inspection, testing and audit

c) familiarity with guidelines such as good laboratory practices, good manufacturing processes, good warehouse practices, as well as ISO standards, would be helpful

d) knowledge of QA tools, concepts and methodologies

e) Proficient in testing, analysis and problem solving

f) Strong analytical, investigative and decision-making skills

g) Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication, listening, organizational and presentation skills

h) Able to successfully work independently as well as in a team environment
