Design Engineer (3D Design)

JOB SUMMARY:Supporting the design of electrical wiring harness and harness sub-components that comply with regulatory requirements, quality targets, cost targets and delivery milestones; for a global OEM customer. The role is predominately working from our company’s main office, located in Epping. However, it will require travelling to customers design centre and customers manufacturing locations overseas.  Main Responsibilities:Support engineering team as directed by supervisor.Implementation of design using 3D mechanical CAD and electrical CAD.Support the development of operator instructions.Program circuit checkers.Support prototype builds.Create and maintain design documents and records.Identify and implement productivity measures.Provide technical support to maintain and improve quality performance of products.Communicate/interact with external customersMeet with customer engineering team on a regular basis.JOB QUALIFICATIONS:Graduate of BS Degree in Electrical/ Electronics / Mechanical EngineeringUnderstanding of any industry recognized Quality SystemTeam based lab project, project or Thesis Other Qualifications (Desirable but not Mandatory)Cultural awareness of any of the following countries: China, Indian, South Africa, Argentina or Thailand.System or component design experience using Catia, Solidworks, Unigraphics, Navisworks, mCAD or Zuken eCAD
