Job Description

The Hemodialysis Nurse is responsible for rendering quality nursing care and support to patients suffering from acute and chronic renal (kidney) failure under the general supervision of a Hemodialysis head nurse and/or senior Hemodialysis Nurse.

Technical Skills

Provides care and support for patients suffering from acute and chronic (kidney) failure.Demonstrates skills and accurate assessment, reassessment, development, and implementation of a plan of care. Plans give and evaluate nursing care.Verifies treatment orders relevant to the dialysis treatment for each individual patient.Revises and checks treatment plan related to the dialysis treatment including previous flow sheet acute/chronic orders.Primes dialyzer and prepares necessary equipment to be used in dialysis treatment.Records patient's medical information and pre and post-vital signs.Report observations to the physician.

Requirements

Licensed/registered nurse.Preferably with experience in hemodialysis (not required).-
