Project Proposal Engineer III

FOR THIS ROLE YOU WILL NEED:

A Bachelor’s Degree in Instrumentation and Control, Electrical, Electronics, Mechanical, Chemical EngineeringAt least 3 years actual experience in proposal generation, sizing, calculations and order management for process automation, control and optimization technologies and servicesKnowledge on process controls, Instrumentation, and technologyStrong technical knowledge on all Instrumentation productsSkilled with Microsoft office applications & other web-based applicationsBasic knowledge on Commercial and Financial systemsKnowledge in Trade ComplianceKnowledge & experience with Instrumentation Quality and product documentsAdvance Knowledge of Engineering PrinciplesOil and gas industry knowledge

IN THIS ROLE YOU WILL:

Prepare Project proposal/quotation for Asia Pacific Sales offices and customers with the following duties:

Part Number/Model Number Creation

Analyze customer requirements and provides recommended product features and build modelIdentify product suitable to replace an obsolete or competitor’s unit based on sizing or information from the old productValidate and Check customer-provided model code for correctness and applicability based on customer specifications and current product offeringsReview individual instrument specifications / requirements and selects appropriate model code and service offering. All products are based on current product offerings and service offering.evaluate customer requirements and recommends non-standard technical workaround based on customer description and data sheetsCoordinate with suppliers to determine the part numbers of buyout productsIdentify Non-standard offering from a given database, that can be offered to fulfill customer requirementsValidate the Model Number in the business system/tool (Toolkit/Oracle): code requirements, special requirements, assembly codes

Product Proposal Creation

Enters quote details, recommended product model codes, and miscellaneous items (documents and services) in systemGenerates new or revised proposalPrepares Clarification, Deviation and Assumption ListProvides product lead timeCoordinates with the supplier/factory/other support group to obtain/identify specific lead time of a product not readily available on the system (may be a custom item with no standard lead time)Coordinates with the supplier/factory/other support group to obtain product and service pricingEscalates commercial inquiries to factory /Escalates pricing issues to appropriate support group

Product and Application Information

Provides product specification information that the customer needsExplains product specification and product features to customersevaluates basic engineering specification and compares application with industry standards and escalate to whom it should be directedRecommends solution for industry standard compliant engineering specifications (standard product)Recommends alternative solution for non-compliant engineering specifications to industry standards

documentation Management/Control

Gathers, collects, organizes, and sends electronic copies of documentations to customerIdentify customer documentation requirements and specifications/Reviews customer data and documentation requirements (type, format, copies) against factory standardReviews completeness customer data and documentation requirementsConsolidates Material Certification/documentsFill outs customer nonstandard records (Non EMR docs - e.g. Price list, Instrument tag list, etc)Reviews and resolves escalated documentation issuesAnalyzes risks related to documentation requirements and escalates to project manager/engineer
