One Zone is currently recruiting for a Mechanical / MEP Design Manager to join our team in the Philippines.

You will be responsible for communications with our clients and their representatives and in turn managing the day-to-day planning, operational, and delivery aspects of our project(s). Within this role, you will provide leadership and direction to the respective design & engineering, 2D & 3D staff who make up the project teams.

Requirements:

To be considered for this role, you will need to:

·        Demonstrate relevant working experience in a similar role of at least 10 years with a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Mechanical / Building Services Engineering)

·        Possess UK Building Services design experience

·        Liaise with our clients, as well as the company’s internal project teams and senior management. ·

·        Support the delivery of the contracted MEP Engineering services to our clients.

·        Participate in establishing and implementing the Project Management Plan and/or Design Implementation Plan and procedures.

·        Plan, manage & monitor resource requirements in conjunction with other Heads of Department & Senior Managers to ensure on-time, on-quality delivery of projects.

·        Oversee and guide the One Zone team in accordance with design progress activities & requirements. Monitor and verify design progress and submittals at all design phases.

·        Organize/manage design review meetings, workshops, and reports during design phases.

·        Advise the Project Director / Design & Engineering Manager on all matters pertaining to cost scope and schedule with regard to design development.

·        Have knowledge of various codes and standards such as ASHRAE and NFPA.

·        Demonstrate knowledge of British Standards and Australian Standards.

·        Demonstrate a full understanding of Mechanical Building Services design especially HVAC systems.

·        Have knowledge in Plumbing and Drainage and Fire Protection.

·        Be proficient in calculation software such as IES, Hevacomp, E20 etc.

·        Have knowledge of Revit, Navisworks, and BIM-360.

·        Possess Project Management skills and have working knowledge in MS Project

·        Demonstrate in depth knowledge of installation and coordination

·        Undertake QA/QC reviews on project design & documentation

·        Mentor and lead teams of engineers, 2D & 3D staff.

·        Ensure that our design works are in compliance with the Client’s requirements and applicable Codes and Standards.

·        Have excellent written and verbal English communication skills

Responsibilities:

·        Monitors the quality and progress of the discipline on each project, ensuring that production requirements are satisfied.

·        Works closely with other Heads of Department / Senior Management to resolve any existing or forecasted problems related to discipline staffing, quality of work, schedule performance, or productivity.

·        Establishes standards and procedures manuals for the discipline. Recommends improvements to department procedures.

·        Responsible for the overall managerial and technical direction of the discipline.

·        Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.

Qualifications:

·        Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Mechanical/Building Services).

·        Ideally possess Professional License or Registered Mechanical Engineer.

·        Membership with Chartered Institute of Building Services Engineers (CIBSE) or equivalent, preferred but not essential.

·        Significant managerial experience in large design/engineering projects is a must.

·        Proven ability for managing a large group of engineering/technical personnel, directing work involving complex technical situations

·        Thorough knowledge of industry practices and regulations are required

·        Must also possess a thorough knowledge of current technology and the capabilities and efficiencies of specific engineering software for use in completing engineering assignments
