Qualification

Candidate must possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering. MUST be a Licensed Mechanical EngineerMinimum of 15 years of experience in Coal Fired Power Plant Construction Management.Leadership and business management skillsMust have fundamental knowledge and experience on power plant engineering principles and technologiesMust have experience in developing conceptual designs, project basis of design and feasibility studies, preparation of minimum technical specifications, tender dossiers for EPC. Review of EPC contractor submission.

Main Responsibilities

Monitoring build progress, overseeing finance and ensuring project qualityMaking strategic decisions and providing leadership and direction to project managers to implement those decisionsMeeting with clients, stakeholders and project managers to report on project progressLiaising with clients and building strong working relationshipsDevising cost-effective plans to enable effective project completionManaging risks to avoid delays or reputational damageEnsuring permits and legal papers are secured ahead of the projectManaging project managers and enabling them to supervise and manage their own teamsWorking in an office and on a construction site.Participate and lead tender preparation, tender evaluations, contract negotiations, contract administration, contract supervision, and claims management.Manage problem solving processes with respect to design, construction, and coordination issues associated with power plant project
