Quality Assurance Engineer (Chemical Engineer)

Job Purpose:

Provides technical support to Production, Maintenance, Marketing, Finance and Purchasing on matters relating to raw material and product quality and customer service thru the application of theories and principles of General Engineering, Chemistry, Chemical and metallurgical Engineering.

Job Scope:

Within limit of company policies, programs, systems and procedures, this job is responsible for and has commensurate authority to carry out the following:

Conducts technical analysis and evaluation of quality defects on materials and products, their causes and corrective and preventive measures.Conducts technical analysis and evaluation of incoming raw materials and their suitability and applicability to the lines, e.g. PPGI/GI coils, foaming chemicals and other sheathing materialsConducts settlement of customer complaints and sales returns.Conducts technical analysis and evaluation of appropriate process parameters for implementation to line, e.g. foam densities, mould temperaturesConducts on-site investigation of customer complaints with its corresponding root-cause analysis and recommends remedial, preventive measures to Production/SNF and/or customer in coordination with Production.Classifies and disposes in-process and finished products including reclassification of finished goods inventory.Coordinates closely with Production Engineer, Process Technicians, Rollforming and Distribution Officers and Purchasing Personnel on matters related to the above functions.Coordinates with other external groups like suppliers, laboratories, etc. on quality and laboratory testing concerns.Performs other jobs as maybe directed by the Production Manager and Production EngineerPrepares the Quality Performance reports on a daily, weekly and monthly basis as the case maybe.Conducts technical studies relating to quality and productivity improvements.
