Quantity Surveyor and Cost Estimator

Basic Duties

Study the plans, specifications of particular application, and other contract requirements of projects that are for bidding.Quantity take off of materials based on the given plans and bill of quantities of the projects that are for bidding.Prepares cost models during pre-design stage and pre-contract phasePrepare detailed unit cost estimates or the detailed unit price analysis (DUPA) for projects that are for bidding.Assist in canvassing and in getting the current prevailing prices of materials and services with respect to the specific project requirementsAssist in preparing technical and tender documentsPrepares project billing evaluationsConduct inspections of the project site for the project assessments and evaluationsPerform all task assigned by superior from time to time.

QUALIFICATIONS/EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION:

Licensed Civil Engineer or Mechanical/Electrical Engineer

EXPERIENCE:

Must have at least 4 years of experience in building construction projects.Must have at least 2 years on-the-job experience in Quantity Surveying and Cost Estimating position.Must be proficient in materials take-off and costing of MEPF (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing & Fire Fighting systems) components of buildings.Must be knowledgeable in construction plan details and quantity calculation based on given plans and specifications.

SKILLS/ABILITIES:

Good verbal and written communication skillsProficiency in Microsoft Office such as MS Excel, MS Word, MS Powerpoint, etc.Autocad Program orientedDetail-oriented
