Product Data Analyst

SUMMARY: We’re looking for someone with experience working with product data, product taxonomy or product classifications. The Product Data Analyst will primarily be responsible for supporting E-Commerce and taking products and working with an assortment of data to perform tasks such as classification, data cleanup, and product analysis and reporting. The role will heavily involve using Microsoft Excel, formulas, and scripts to compare, research and match up categories but additional software and technologies will be utilized including Data Visualization software when required. Experience with SQL and Power BI will be preferred. Proactive communication, attention to detail, keeping an organized workflow of projects all while sometimes pivoting abruptly to business needs will be required to be successful.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Strategy & Planning

·      Utilize the Product Information Management (PIM) system to ensure complete and accurate product information.

·      Support business initiatives related to changing product information while maintaining hierarchy and taxonomy structure.

·      Research categories of products to determine their placement within our category structure.

·      Work with peers and various business partners supporting initiatives and projects.

·      Work with large data sets to complete complex tasks such as deduping, matching up data, etc.

·      Work within documented workflow processes and collaborate to build new ones as required.

·      Commit to and keep an organized project flow within workflow software and give summaries and updates on active projects.

·      Perform any miscellaneous assignments as required.

Skills and Qualifications

·      Good analytical skills and attention to detail.

·      Superior skills working with Microsoft Excel.

·      Ability to work independently and in a team environment.

·      Strong English communication skills, both verbal and written.

·      Proven experience in managing and analysis of product information data.

·      Skilled at analyzing data and researching relevant solutions.

·      T-SQL or MySQL experience.

·      Data visualization experience with PowerBi or Tableau preferred.

·      Experience with Industrial Distribution or MRO product data preferred.

. Can work on a permanent onsite set up with day shift working schedule and occasional night shift schedule for the training.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

No direct supervisory responsibilities. Some outside resource oversights.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor’s Degree requiredStrong Microsoft Excel and Outlook experience is requiredPrevious experience working with Microsoft Excel, SQL, and/or Power BIMDM experience working with data sets preferred
