Key Responsibilities:
Assigning codes to diagnoses and procedures, using ICD (International Classification of Diseases) and CPT (Current Procedural Terminology) codesEnsuring codes are accurate and sequenced correctly in accordance with government and insurance regulationsFollowing-up with the provider on any documentation that is insufficient or unclearCommunicate with other clinical staff regarding documentationSearching for information in cases where the coding is complex or unusualReceiving and reviewing patient charts and documents for accuracyReviewing the previous day's batch of patient notes for evaluation and codingEnsuring that all codes are current and activeQualifications:
Has 1 to 3 years and more of relevant experienceHas experience with an EMR Management softwareHas extensive experience with E & M codingHas extensive knowledge of CPT, ICD-10, HCPCSAbility and knowledge to accurately code procedures and diagnoses according to payer-specific policies and proceduresWhat's in it for you?
