Laboratory Analyst

JOB OVERVIEW:

Responsible for the conduct of Spectro-chemical analyses of VMC cast products and metal samples to ensure it conforms with our specifications. Safeguards confidential information relative to VMC manufactured metal products and trade secrets on specifications of various mill parts.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Primarily responsible for the analysis and adjustment of Foundry molten metal compositions are met to the desired chemical composition prior to pouringConduct analysis of metal samples of Factory supplies & materials and identifies, classifies according to standard AISI/SAE/JIS, ASTM compositionPerforms product testing of Foundry supplies & materials such as sands & bentonite to ensure that coming raw materials are subjected to quality check before acceptance or use in productionSafeguards & safekeep the chemical composition trade secret of our cast products & metallic samples that analyzed, certified so that data will not divulged to other partiesdocument/maintain records/file for fast & easy traceabilityMake summary of production & rejection cost report on item rejectedResponsible in maintaining & calibration of Spectrometer, Sand Testing Machine & metallurgical Microscope in good operating conditionPrepare MRIO & Budget needed for EQC operationDo other job assign by superior

QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering/Chemical Engineering Technology/ChemistryAt least 2 to 3 years of relevant experienceComputer literateKnow how to set up curve / standardization of SpectrometerKnowledgeable to operate laboratory equipment (such as Spectrometer, microscope & sand testing machine)
