Medical Officer

The Medical Officer is a physician in corporate management on top of being a clinician. This involves the various roles related to medical underwriting, claims review, resource person for product design and development, sales and marketing, and operational processes. 

Responsibilities:

Medical Underwriting and review contestable and complex claims casesProvide final laboratory interpretation for Chest Xray, ECG and Treadmill exercise Test prior to Underwriting AssessmentTraining of Underwriters and Claims staffClinic SpecialistLiaison with third party providers, HMO and hospitalsAssess contracting manual for coding of newly recruit advisorsReports to the Medical Director

Qualifications:

Minimum typical education

Board Certified and licensed Doctor of Medicine

Board Certified and Fellow in Internal Medicine

Board Certified and Fellow in Cardiology or Pulmonary Medicine

Member Philippine Society of Insurance Medicine (PSIM)

Member AAIM

Training in Occupational/Industrial Medicine

Minimum typical experience

3 years clinical practice in Internal Medicine and subspecialty

2 years exposure to medical underwriting (optional)

Active member, PSIM

Active member, Internal Medicine and subspecialty
