Title: Category Buyer (Food) for HMR Retail Haus, Inc.                                                                                                                                                                                  

Role Purpose: Fulfillment of key functions in the Purchasing Department of the Retail Subsidiary of the HMR Group of Companies.

Major Responsibility Areas:

Merchandise Planning and Management:

Responsible for demand planning and sales/volume forecasting for accounts being managed.Analyze data on sales performance and market trends and work with consignors and suppliers to adjust product offerings.Search for insights into consumer needs and wantsPlan and implement long-term development strategies for product categoriesDesign exit strategies for unsuccessful productsKeep abreast with merchandise trends and new product lines in the market to maintain leadership in the industry.Research and develop vendor sources for purchase of products/servicesUnderstand department category assortment

Inventory Management

Recommend/make assortment decisions.Propose price mark down and clearance activities to for aging products while maintaining profit targets.Coordinate closely with the Inventory Management Group to ensure quality/adequate quantity of merchandise and timely delivery of stocks.Collection and consolidation of regular branch reports for sales and inventory levels for consignment, regular, and indent product categories to ensure appropriate levels of inventory.Expedite critical orders of items/products

Sales Support

Provide product and pricing information to branches for preparation of sales quotations for customer inquiriesAssignment of reference number and encoding of PO/PIS on EXTRIMPreparing PO/PIS for retail branch product requests/pre-sold itemsRouting of PO/PIS for internal approval and transmittal to the supplierInforming retail branches for incoming delivery of items and the monitoring thereofCanvassing for suppliers of products requested by retail branches, key customer accounts, and management

Supplier Relations

Acquire new consignors/suppliers for assigned category.Develop new and current consignors/suppliers in the assigned category.evaluate new vendors/partners and make recommendations for onboarding or rejection.Preparation of online RFPs for payments to regular suppliers and monitoring with Accounting for paymentDirect the internal and external launch of new vendor relationships and productsInitiate and facilitate vendor training with Sales TeamAttend supplier training as needed to monitor course content and efficacyCommunicate supplier programs and policies to IMG, Accounting, Marketing and Sales.Coordination with HRH Marketing Team on product push initiatives for consignor and HRH productsIn charge of product knowledge and training materials.Generation of weekly pipeline of new suppliers and consignorsPreparation of online RFPs for payments to regular suppliers and monitoring with Accounting for paymentMaintain records and filing system for P.O. and other documentations
