Receives assignments or evaluates news leads and news tips to develop story ideas.Gathers and verifies factual information regarding stories through interviews, observation, and research.Organizes material determines slant or emphasis and writes story according to prescribed editorial style and format standards.Attending and reporting on events that are of interest to the public.Transcribe and summarize events for further news purposes.Travel to events and ensure the proper maintenance, security, and care of recording equipment. Working collaboratively with other members of a reporting team.Representing the organization at conferences, press briefings, events, and interviews.Ensuring a professional appearance, language use, and manner throughout reports.

Reporter Requirements:

A bachelor's degree in journalism, communications, or a specialized field such as politics, economics, or international relations.With proven experience in news, television, or journalism.Ability to develop and deliver presentations.Knowledge of journalism principles and techniques.Skill in the use of journalistic research and methods and techniques.Creative writing skills.Knowledge of editorial and ethical standards for researching and developing journalistic articles and presentations.
